Steps of removing the nose wheel assembly:
1. remove nose wheel
2. remove cotter pin
3. remove castle nut
3. tilt fairing slightly forward (or flange will not clear)
4. remove fairing & fork assembly
5. separate fork from fairing
Note: following the Service Manual procedure will gouge the V-shaped aerodynamic fairing at the rear on the nose strut.
The assembly shown here is just one of the many methods depicted in various drawings from the manufacturer. FletchAir did extensive testing with various methods of assembly and found that this one works well for most aircraft. "I cannot recommend any method that might be contrary to the manufacturer's recommendations. Each aircraft owner may want to customize nose fork friction to his or her desires."
